Piggy Paint: Non-Toxic, Water-Based Nail Polish
I’ve been obsessed with vegan, cruelty-free and non-toxic nail polish pretty much since I was in utero. đŸ˜‰ Ha, okay, maybe not that far back, but sers, I love me some bright, pretty nails sans all the nasty, if you know what I’m sayin’.
Piggy Paint is a non-toxic, low odor, water-based, cruelty-free and vegan kid-friendly nail polish brand that offers a variety of cutesy colorful shades (e.g. Groovy Grape and Clouds of Candy). It’s a great alternative to solvent-based nail polishes, which makes it safe for kiddos and prego ladies, too!
How exactly is this nail polish non-toxic, you ask? It’s free of formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, Bisphenol A, ethyl acetate and acetone and every ingredient in the polish is biodegradable to boot. Believe it or not, this is actually the first time I’ve ever tried a water-based nail polish, and I must say, I’m a big fan! The color came out beautifully and it totally didn’t stink! So many “non-toxic” nail polishes smell toxic as hell, but this one wins the prize. Now I’m excited to try out some other water-based, vegan brands. đŸ™‚
Check out a few of the fun colors from Piggy Paint’s nail polish line (2nd pic is Eat Your Peace, the shade I tried on my toesie wosies):
My recommendations for using Piggy Paint: 1) Apply several coats and 2) Allow extra drying time in between coats and definitely before putting on your socks or slippers.
What’s your favorite non-toxic vegan nail polish?
