DIY All-Natural Lipstick [RECIPE]
Did you know that tons of conventional lipsticks contain toxic heavy metals including chromium, cadmium, manganese, aluminum, and lead? WTF? And if that wasn’t shocking enough, most of them also contain crushed beetles! Eeeeeeeew. This is just normal, and people don’t even think twice about it.
Ever notice how by the end of the day, or even after a meal, your lipstick is no longer on your lips? GONE. That’s because we unintentionally eat that nasty ish! So… if we’re all prone to accidentally eating lipstick, let’s make sure it’s as pure and natural as f*ck.
DIY All-Natural Lipstick
What you’ll need:
- 3/4 tsp candelilla wax
- 1 tsp shea or cocoa butter
- 1 tsp jojoba oil (you can also use sweet almond, coconut, or olive oil)
- 1-3 tsp beet root powder or red mica (quantity depends on how intense you want your red to be)
- a couple drops of peppermint essential oil
Using a microwave or double boiler, melt your wax, butter, and oil in a glass container until everything is completely melted and in liquid form.
Remove from heat and add your red coloring and essential oil. While still in liquid form, pour your mixture into empty lip balm tubes or tins. Place your lippies in the fridge until they fully cool. You’re dunzo! How easy was that!?
