September 2015 petit vour

Aaaaahh, a gorgeous bright pink box made its way to mah door. You know what that means… HappyPetit Vour Unboxing Day! I can’t wait to reveal all the fab goodies in this month’s Petit Vour vegan beauty box! If you’re new to Petit Vour, it’s a monthly subscription box that comes loaded with samples (including full-sized ones) from fancy, vegan, cruelty-free, and non-toxic brands (I don’t know of any other beauty boxes with such high standards – LOVE!). You can peep all my previous PV box reviews here. This goodie box is only $15 a month (HELLA good deal, especially considering this month’s box is valued at ~$40!) and includes free shipping in the U.S. ($23 for Canada). Pretty sweet, right?

September’s Petit Vour Beauty Box included the following non-toxic, squeaky clean, cruelty-free goodies:

Elate Lipstick in Lively – First off, this is a full-size item valued at $17 (worth more than the entire PV box!). This lipstick is loaded with skin-lovin’ yummies like shea and mango butters and a plethora of hydrating oils and waxes. The ingredients are 100% natural and healthy. Switching to all-natural lippies is everything nowadays, because most commercial lip products are chock full of toxic chemicals and preservatives… and we basically eat that ish when we get our nom on, smooch, or lick our lips. Anyhoo, I digress. This beautiful shade is a subtle, shimmery golden/bronze, and it’s actually quite lovely (swatched below on my thumb). Btw, how pretty is the bamboo packaging?

Blissoma Herbal Gel Cleanser – This über gentle cleanser acts as a makeup remover and face wash. I’ve been sort of lazy about makin’ up my face lately (am in the midst of unpacking after a big move, and makeup is kind of the last thing on my mind), so I honestly haven’t used this as a makeup remover yet. I have used it as a face wash, however, and I dig it very much. It has a nice, earthy scent, and it washes off easily. A lot of gel cleansers are thick and goopy and take a bazillion years to wash off, but this one was easy-peasy. I’ve been a Blissoma fan for years, so it’s no surprise that this cleanser is muy bien.

Mahalo Pele Mask* – Ooh, more bamboo packaging – I love it! I’ve been seeing pics of this mask on IG for awhile now, and I’m stoked I finally get to try it. Peep this intriguing description from their website, “Activated by water, this astute formula metamorphs from dull powder to dark velvety mousse, swelling and sizzling as it brings to life the luxurious botanicals.” Sounds like wicked-awesome sorcery, right? After trying it, it’s a bit of a stretch, but I definitely felt some magic goin’ down, and it doesn’t leave your skin all tight-feeling and zapped of moisture either.

This mask contains “botox-plant” Hibiscus, anti-inflammatory Turmeric, collagen-boosting vitamin C, anti-aging Neem leaf, oxygenating Cayenne, sebum-balancing Witch Hazel, wrinkle-fading Guava, acne-fighting Holy Basil, toxin-magnet Volcanic Ash Clay and bacteria-absorbing Activated Bamboo Charcoal… every ingredient has a purpose, and what a fancy and unique blend.

MSC Skin Care Exfoliating Body Scrub – Gah, this essential oil combo of grapefruit and spearmint smells SO good. It’s invigorating and makes ya feel alive! I couldn’t get it to photograph well, it just looks mushy in my pic, but it’s def a PV box fave. It’s got all the yummy scrubby essentials: exfoliating raw sugar, moisture-rich shea butter, and skin-freshening sunflower and rice bran oils. Will most likely be purchasing the full-size version of this.

Overall impression: Lots of value loaded in this petit box – 2 full-size products and 2 samples. I like that I got introduced to a new all-natural lipstick line (dangerous for my wallet). LOVE all the bamboo packaging in this month’s box – it’s über luxey, makes me feel flossy (in a green, tree-huggin’ way). I honestly was impressed by every single product this month. PV almost never disappoints.

If you like what you see, you should consider hooking yourself up with a Petit Vour subscription! Also, you can buy products you love directly from PV’s online store. Customers (even non-subscribers) receive 20% back in PV Points with every shop purchase. It’s like a constant 20% discount and when you combine that with the free shipping on all orders $50+… it’s an insane deal. xx
