Petit Vour Vegan Beauty Box March 2016 Review
Happy Petit Vour Unboxing Day! March’s PV beauty box has a lovely “fresh start” spring theme, and as always, all the items included in this month’s box are squeaky clean and non-toxic, which I absolutely adore! If you’re new to Petit Vour, it’s a monthly subscription box that comes loaded with samples (including full-sized ones) from fancy, vegan, cruelty-free, and non-toxic brands. You can peep all my previous PV box reviews here. This goodie box is only $15 a month (HELLA good deal, especially considering this month’s box is valued at $48!) and includes free shipping in the U.S. ($23 for Canada).
You’ll also be able to earn points in their shop (product links within this post) with every purchase, review, and friend rec. Compassionate and affordable—pretty sweet, right?
March’s Petit Vour Beauty Box included the following cruelty-free goodies:
Lauren B Beauty Dual Base/Top Coat,* $22 – This literally couldn’t have come at a better time. I paint my nails 1-2 times a week (mani madness up in here!), and my go-to bottle of top coat (at the moment, it’s Dazzle Dry) is almost empty. I’ve reviewed Lauren B. Beauty polishes a few times on VBR, and I love that their polishes are all quick-drying, high-shine, chip-resistant, long-lasting, 5-free (no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, toluene or camphor), and made in the USA. Also, each brush is packed with twice the standard amount of bristles, all pre-lacquered so polish glides on smoothly and streak-free. I adore the packaging, too. ♥
Little Barn Apothecary Geranium + White Tea Beauty Mist,* $8 – This is a Petit Vour exclusive! It’s filled with healing plant energy and antioxidants, and it can be used after cleansing to calm, soften, and hydrate skin (think freshening mister/toner/mood booster). It’s got a mega floral scent, and it’s definitely uplifting and grounding. I heart this very much. Also, mad props/respect/admiration for LBA using eco-friendly glass packaging.
Suki Transformative Purifying Masque, $17 – Just a heads up – this comes in a serum applicator-type bottle but I had a somewhat hard time getting the cap to come off (need to start lifting finger weights). I may just be weak, but wanted to let y’all know in case you have a hard time getting the cap off, too. I’m excited to use this as a spot treatment (I’d hate to use the entire thing up in a single use as a face mask), especially during my wicked monthly hormonal breakouts. Some key ingredients in this bad boy include kaolin clay, rose, witch hazel, tea tree, and seaweed extract. Gotta give mad love for more glass packaging. These seemingly little things make a huge difference!
Yarok Feed Your Moisture Shampoo, $1 – Although I’m sort of the queen of dry shampoo (a.k.a. I’m not an avid hair washer… gotta keep my pink strands their pinkiest), erverything I’ve tried from Yarok over the years (thanks to subby boxes like Petit Vour) have impressed me. This shampoo contains hair-lovin’ yums like organic fair trade African black soap, argan, coconut and hemp seed oils, and it’s free of alcohol, parabens, and sulfates, which is kind of a big deal. I bet it smells amaze, too – it’s got orange, ylang ylang, and rosemary essential oils. Next time I scrub my mop, imma give this a whirl.
* = PV faves
Overall impression: Lots of value in this month’s box – $48 for $15 (with free shipping, say whaaaaat?!). I’m like, eager to get a zit, just so I can zap that sh*t with some Suki action. There’s no doubt in my mind, I will use Lauren B. Beauty’s top coat polish almost every time I paint my nails until it runs out. The LBA + PV beauty mist is already 1/5 gone because I can’t stop spritzing it all over mah face! It’s definitely one of my faves this time around. This month’s box was a hit!
If you like what you see, you should consider hooking yourself up with a Petit Vour subscription! Also, you can buy products you love directly from PV’s online store. Customers (even non-subscribers) receive 20% back in PV Points with every shop purchase. It’s like a constant 20% discount and when you combine that with the free shipping on all orders $50+… it’s an insane deal. xx
