DIY Natural Cleaners [VIDEO]
Who’s ready to go green with their spring cleaning? Let’s ditch the toxic chemicals and save some dough by making household cleaners (that actually work!) from scratch using ish we already have at home. From air fresheners to tile scrubs, I gotchu, boo!
Earlier this week, I stopped by KATU’s “Afternoon Live” to share some of my favorite recipes for DIY natural cleaners.
DIY Natural Cleaners
All-Purpose Cleaner
- 1 cup distilled white vinegar
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 40 drops lemon essential oil
Combine ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake well before each use.
Scrubber (also cleans stainless steel like a dream)
- 1 to 1 ratio of coconut oil and baking soda
Place a small amount of mixture on a cloth rag and scrub in a circular motion.
Mirror Cleaner
- 1 1/2 cups distilled white vinegar
- 1/2 cup water
- 10 drops sweet orange oil
Combine ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake well before each use.
Tile and Tub Cleaner
- baking soda
- lemon essential oil
Sprinkle baking soda onto a wet sponge and add a few drops of lemon essential oil. Scrub grout and tile as usual.
Air and Linen Freshener
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol (or vodka)
- 20-30 drops of essential oil
Combine ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake before each use.
