VBR Book Rec – Zero Waste: Simple Life Hacks to Drastically Reduce Your Trash
It’s Earth Month y’all, and lemme tell ya, I for one am freaking da fuq out about the state of this big ol’ green and blue rock we be livin’ on! Over time, I have upped my eco game when it comes to recycling, reusing, buying second hand, and stuff like rockin’ menstrual cups and making my own beauty and cleaning products, but it never seems like enough. (insert desperation emoji)
When I recently got my paws on Shia Su’s Zero Waste: Simple Life Hacks to Drastically Reduce Your Trash, I was like, “The time is NAO, besh. Gotta kick it up into high gear!” I got super inspired just by looking at the cover even.
Did you know that the average American throws 4.4 pounds of trash away per day – SAY WHAT!?
If this makes your heart hurt as much as it does mine, join me in working your way toward a zero waste lifestyle! This book is a fantastic resource and it’s such a fun and easy read. Shia breaks everything down in a simple and fun way and shares practical advice, quick solutions, and tips and tricks such as how to:
- Build your own zero waste kit
- Prepare real food―the lazy way
- Make your own DIY household cleaners and toiletries
- Be zero waste even in the bathroom! (for next level, hardcore peeps – not quite there yet) 😉
Fav parts about this book aside from all the wonderful info and recipes, include all the colorful pics and Shia’s friendly, conversational, and keepin’ in real personality. I highly recommend this read and I will most definitely be purchasing copies for friends and loved ones who I know love Mama Earth as much as I do. xx
What’s your favorite waste-free tip? Mine = buy from bulk bins! I’m a work in progress and I’ve got a ways to go, but I’m already saving jars to store my favorite non-perishable foods in. 🙂 xx
