Hoping to Shed Some Tofurky Pounds
I ate like a Sasquatch this past weekend… Tofurky, Field Roast, deep fried seitan, mashed tators up the yin-yang—I pigged out hard. I’ve been trying to squeeze in a few crunches here and there to off-set my new rotund silhouette, but after a one-on-one with myself, I decided I wanted to get fit faster.
It’s been chilly outside (I know I’m a wuss; I live in LA), so I decided I would start working out indoors. My workout DVD of choice: The Bar Method. I’m pretty new to The Bar Method. I’ve been hearing wonderful things about it for eons, and it seems to be really trendy in LA, so there you have it. Or rather, there I have it.
I went for the Dancer’s Body Advanced Workout DVD ($20), and I loved it from start to finish. It’s an hour-long workout that seriously kicked my ass. My quads, thighs, calves, buns, arms (everything) were burning (in a good way) for the next few days. If you’re a cardio fanatic, I’d like to point out that this is not a cardio workout (as you might have gathered); it incorporates isometric exercises (and very effectively). I’m hoping to use this DVD at least three times a week or more, especially come the new year.
Btw, in case you’re wondering, you do not need a bar for this workout and you do not need to have any dancing/ballet experience. 🙂
Wish me luck on trimmin’ down! Firm booty, lean legs, here I come! 😉
