‘The Best Deodorant In The World’ Review
As you may have noticed, VBR has reviewed a ton of vegan deodorants on the blog. And while I have my faves, I’m always open to trying new ones, especially when they have ballsy names like The Best Deodorant In The World. Needless to say, before even opening up the product, my expectations were seriously high. Read on to find out if it really is the BEST.
A bit about the brand and its founder: TBDITW was started in 2011 by Margaux, a mom, who’s focused on the educating the world about all-natural personal care products that are safe, cruelty-free and vegan. Margaux’s formula is organic, free of toxins, and super duper pure (safe for moms-to-be, those with sensitive skin, hospital patients, etc.).
Check out how squeaky clean their ingredients are: Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Organic Unrefined Shea Butter, Organic Candelilla Wax, Organic Unrefined Cocoa Butter, Organic Kaolin Clay, Organic Arrowroot Powder, Organic Unrefined Mango Butter, Organic Pure Hemp Oil, Organic Pure Apricot Oil, Organic & Pure Essential Oils, Magnesium Hydroxide, Activated Coconut Charcoal, Aluminum Free Baking Soda, Organic Vitamin E Oil
A lot of people complain that natural deodorants simply don’t work. If you’re one of those peeps, btw, please e-mail me, I can def recommend some ones that’ll help tame yo’ beastly stank. 😉 What I like about this particular recipe, is that, according to their website, they spent 3 years perfecting their deodorant which included 59 formulas and 47,359 test subjects (!!)… those number are compelling… but does it work??
Imma break down pros and cons:
Pros:
- Clean, organic ingredients
- Fantastic, refreshing minty unisex scent
- A little goes a long way
- For someone who has become somewhat sensitive to natural deodorants with baking soda as an ingredient, this doesn’t freak my pits out in the slightest. I’m guessing they use the tiniest amount of baking soda, juuust enough to kill bacteria and fight odor.
- Drumroll… it really does work!! Granted I’m not working out at the gym, hiking, biking, being overly active in general (Oops, was that a new year resolution? Will get on that tomorrow!), for everyday wear, it keeps me smelling fresh, and it lasts! Love the minty scent SO much… in fact, how come there aren’t more minty deodorants in the world?? I also love that it contains activated coconut charcoal… activated charcoal has dominated my beauty products as of late, and I can’t seem to get enough. 🙂
- They offer a 90-day money back guarantee if you aren’t completely satisfied with their product.
Cons:
- You have to apply it with your fingers. I’m actually chill about this, but I know some people are exclusive deodoro stick fans.
- It’s a bit gritty (guessing it’s the solidification of the shea or cocoa butter in cooler temps), which I also don’t mind at all, because when you apply it to your skin, it blends in easily.
- There’s no frou-frou packaging, which again, I don’t mind, but if you tend to judge a book solely by its cover, you might pass on this deodorant (which would be a shame IMHO).
- It’s a bit pricy: $15 + shipping. The price is justified by its high quality, organic ingredients, but in general, it’s not the most budget-friendly option.
Bottom line: I would recommend this deodorant in a heartbeat. A lot of thought went into the formula, the ingredients are top notch, and mad props to them for having the cojones for deeming their ish the best. Is it the best? Well… I’ll say it’s one of the best. Again, I have my standbys that I can’t live without, but this one is definitely a contender. xx
