Hourglass Cosmetics Going Fully Vegan by 2020
Perhaps you’ve already heard the good news, but if you haven’t, Hourglass Cosmetics has announced they’re going to become a fully vegan brand by the year 2020!
In addition to be cruelty-free and soon-to-be 100% vegan, Hourglass products are also free from parabens and sulfates. Hourglass is best known for its Veil Mineral Primer, Ambient Lighting Powder, Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick, Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation, and Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil.
In light of the company’s announcement, Hourglass has released a limited-edition vegan leather makeup clutch and will be donating 100% of profits to the Nonhuman Rights Project (available at HourglassCosmetics.com and Hourglass Abbot Kinney for $58).
Heads up: In June 2017, Hourglass was acquired by Unilever, and although Hourglass remains a 100% cruelty-free brand, Unilever still animal tests. For more insight into what that means, peep this post: The Dilemma: Cruelty-Free Brands Owned by Companies That Animal Test
